EVA (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate) is lightweight, waterproof, wear-resistant, "rubber-like" in softness and flexibility. This material has good damping properties, capable of absorbing and distributing shock loads.
However, over time, this material loses its damping properties. This is due to the fact that the walls of the pores are destroyed, and the entire EVA mass becomes more flat and less elastic. Also EVA is not suitable as a material for winter footwear, as this material is very slippery and unstable to frost. But the excellent thermal insulation properties of EVA make it possible to use this material in the manufacture for the middle sole of shoe parts and insoles.
